The murder trial of a Polish man accused of killing a Claregalway man in the city last year has been postponed until the New Year.

28 year old Alexsander Nadwodny, of no fixed abode, is charged with the murder of 20 year old Kieran Cunningham just off Eyre Square on June 3rd 2009.

Alexsander Nadwodny was due to stand trial for murder at the Central Criminal court this week.

However when the case came before Mr Justice Paul Carney at the Courts of Criminal Justice yesterday, Galway Gardai and witnesses who had travelled to Dublin for the trial were told there was no judge available to hear the trial.

The case has now been put back into the courts diary to be listed for trial next year.
