KAYAKERS RESCUED OFF SLYNE HEAD IN CONNEMARA

Two kayakers have been rescued at an island off Slyne Head in Connemara this afternoon.

Clifden lifeboat responded to a call at midday from the pair who were stranded at Duck Island, at the western tip of Connemara.

Two lifeboats were launched and the experienced kayakers are now being brought back to safety ashore.

No serious injuries are reported.
