Justice Minister says Galway Garda districts to remain the same
Galway Bay fm newsroom – There are no plans to amalgamate or realign any garda districts in Galway, according to the Justice Minister, Alan Shatter.
He made the comments in a response to a parliamentary question by Galway West T.D Seán Kyne about progress on the new Garda Divisional Headquarters in Galway.
Minister Shatter stated that the HQ, which will be based in Renmore, is part of a public private partnership and therefore is complex.
He says it’s not possible to give a timeframe for when work will begin on the building but that it’s being treated as a priority.
