JURY RESUMES DELIBERATIONS IN ALLEGED ABUSE TRIAL

The jury in the trial of a 54 year old man charged with sexually abusing a young boy at a Galway location in the 1970s will resume its deliberations today.

The jury of 7 women and four men was sent home last evening after failing to reach a majority verdict in the trial.

The accused is pleading not guilty to the charge of sexually assaulting the boy on an unknown date between January 1973 and December 1974, but guilty to a charge of indecently assaulting the boy during the same period.
