JURY FAILS TO REACH VERDICT IN TUAM ASSAULT TRIAL

The jury in the trial of a man charged with the sexual assault of a woman in Tuam over three years ago, has failed to reach a verdict.

The 47 year old man, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was tried at Galway Circuit Court yesterday [Jan 23].

The man is also charged with assaulting the woman with intent to cause serious bodily harm on the same date of 27th June 2008.

Judge Raymond Groarke adjourned the case for mention to tomorrow’s sitting of Galway Circuit Court [Jan 25].
