Pressure is to be put on Junior Minister Brian Hayes today to get compensation packages for 12 Galway families who have still not been relocated after the 2009 flood.

The Junior Minister is in Claregalway this morning to launch an exhibition of the Claregalway and Clare river flood alleviation works.

It’s taking place at the Arches Hotel this morning, three years exacly since the severe flooding of 2009.

The OPW exhibition will remain on display for four weeks.

Speaking on Galway Talks, Independent TD Noel Grealish said the situation for the families affected was now ‘ludicrous’.
