June’s Westport Festival attracts top musical acts

The Westport Festival of Music and Performing Arts has just added more artists to an already bulging bill. Amongst those set to take the scenic route to the Mayo hotspot on June 23 and 24 are Jools Holland who will be accompanied by his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, rockabilly princess Imelda May, American singer Macy Gray, Dublin rockers Royseven, Irish punk legends The Undertones, Californian singer songwriter Rocco DeLuca, and Northern folksters The Lost Brothers.
Already scheduled to perform are Kinks front man Ray Davies, The Waterboys, Seasick Steve, The Dubliners, Alison Moyet, Lloyd Cole, Damien Dempsey, Nick Lowe, The Hothouse Flowers, Duke Special, Mundy, and many more.
The setting for the event is Westport House and the historic site will take on a bohemian festival feel, with three stages, while there will be diverse food stalls to satisfy all tastes and pockets, plenty of bars and chill out areas.
Children under 12 years of age are welcomed into the festival for free, once accompanied by a ticket holding adult, limited to two children per adult. For them, the the Pirate Adventure Park promises to offer plenty of entertainment.
Tickets are €75 including booking fee for a one day ticket and €130 including booking fee for a two day ticket.
