JUDGEMENT DUE TOMORROW IN GALWAY BUSINESSMANS HIGH COURT CASE

Judgment is due tomorrow afternoon in the bid by Galway Businessman John Sweeney – for court protection for companies in his group involved in services stations, retail and hotel businessness.

Blackshore Holdings has been wound up by the High Court today but Mr Sweeney is looking for protection from creditors for other companies.

John Sweeney owns the Sweeney Oil Group and the Marriott Hotel in the city and has an interest in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin.

He’s seeking the appointment of an examiner in a bid to save four other companies.
