Joint Oireachtas Committee to consider request from Barnaderg post office action group

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Joint Oireachtas Committee is to consider a request for an urgent meeting concerning the future of Barnaderg post office later this month.
The committee on Transport and Communications is to discuss the request when it meets on May 28th.
The request for an urgent meeting follows a public gathering attended by over 400 people last week where concerns were raised regarding An Post’s intentions for the local service in Barnaderg.
It’s now three months since the local community participated in a consultation process and made a number of submissions on why the facility should be retained.
The Action Group has since requested an urgent meeting with the Joint Oireachtas Committee to investigate the public consultation process.
