JOBS THREAT AT GALWAY RAPE CRISIS NETWORK
Date Published: 17-Jul-2011
There are concerns that four members of staff may lose their jobs at the Irish Rape Crisis Network in Galway due to funding cuts.
Grant aid from the Health Service Executive is due to expire at the end of this month pending an ongoing review.
Earlier this year, the HSE advised that it was to withdraw its €270k annual funding.
An extension was later granted to provide funding until the end of this month, however four staff have been put on protective notice as a result.
The RCNI wants move from under the auspices of the HSE to the Department of Health.
It says that redundancies in Galway will have to take effect at the end of the month if the funding is no longer available.
