The Jobs Minister says an integral part of promoting investment in Galway is becoming more tech savy.

Richard Bruton says less than a quarter of companies in Ireland are trading online, and because of this could be losing business.

The Minister made the comments at the launch of the new Galway city video and website at city council buildings on College road this afternoon.

The website www.cityofgalway.net goes live today, and features testimonials from the IDA as well as multinationals HP and Medtronic.

It’s been created with the aim of promoting Galway abroad as a place to invest, live and work.

Earlier Minister Bruton addressed a forum of business people at the Clayton Hotel on the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs.

He also visited Ballybane Enterprise Centre and held meetings about the establishment of a Local Enterprise Office in Galway.

Speaking to Galway bay fm news at the city of Galway website launch, Minister Bruton emphasised the importance of companies here being online
