JANUARY TRIAL FOR MAN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULTING BOY OVER THIRTY YEARS AGO

A 54 year old man charged with the sexual abuse of a child at a county Galway location during the 1970’s will be returned for trial in January.

The man who may not be named for legal reasons was extradited from England recently, and is being held on remand at Castlerea Prison.

He is charged with sexually assaulting a young boy at a Co. Galway

location on a date between January 1, 1973 and December 30, 1974.

He is also charged with indecently assaulting the boy on a date unknown between those dates.
