THE three teams chasing honours in the Western Hygiene Supplies Premier Division all maintained their challenge with wins over the weekend. For table toppers Salthill Devon, Athenry and Mervue United matters were fairly comfortable as all won with a bit to spare.

In the First Division, leaders Colga only dropped points for just the second time all season when they had to come from behind twice to grab a share of the spoils against third placed West Coast United.

With NUI Galway not in action and East United losing, Maree Oranmore B secured a win that favours them for the second promotion spot from the Second Division. Corofin United and Bohemians will contest the Jack Lillis Cup final after securing contrasting style wins over Salthill Devon B and Kiltullagh respectively in the semi-finals.

The result paints a picture of a comfortable looking 3-0 win for Salthill Devon over Colemanstown United, but while the outcome was decisive in this top versus bottom contest, matters were competitive for most of the contest, Goals by Timmy Molloy, Tommy McKeown and Shane O’Rourke gave the home side a deserved success, but home custodian Arek Mamala had to play a big part with crucial saves as the visitors made a real battle of it at times.
