One of the biggest agricultural shows in the country – Corrandulla – takes place on this Sunday, June 24, on a 50-acre site in the village that’s located just a short drive from Tuam and Galway city.

While showjumping, Connemara pony, cattle, dog, poultry and arts & crafts classes remain the core business of the show, there are new features added each year to ensure a full day’s entertainment for all the family.

The Show offers a wide variety of food, shopping and entertainment of all kinds. New events this year include free jiving classes with the renowned Niall Doorhy followed by a jiving competition in the hall; a heritage display in the new gymnasium; and CPR demonstrations.

The ever-popular RSA Shuttle Bus is back again this year, it can be found in the main field. The free kiddies entertainment area – bouncy castles, slides and face painting – is also located in this area, while the hourly Flea Circus puppet shows are not to be missed.

Older children will enjoy the fun fair, bungee jumping and mini diggers. This year sees the arrival of a comprehensive public-address system and a ‘big screen’ to keep people informed of all events.

The newly crowned Galway Rose, Deirdre O’Sullivan, is making one of her first public appearances at Corrandulla Show and we wish her all the best at the Rose of Tralee event.

The cattle showing section continues to grow, with the addition of Friesian classes last year. Another new addition is the very popular Nutrias Baby Beef Competition which has a prize fund of €1000. In showjumping, the Kenny Motors sponsored Connacht Grand Prix will be a big attraction – this kicks off at 3pm and is not to be missed. Showjumping starts at 9am so there will be lots of action in this area throughout the day.

Entries for all areas of the show are taken on the day, see www.corrandullashow.com for a full schedule of events.  For further information please contact 087-6041100 or 087-9462222.
