When you hear the term ‘Irish hip hop’ you might think of embarrassing paddy-whackery like House Of Pain (even though they were American) but all that has changed with the emergence of Messiah J &The Expert who come to the Róisín Dubh this Saturday.

Their most recent album Now This I Have To Hear was nominated for the Choice Music Prize and constant touring has established them asan impressive live act.

The pair met back in 1999 when a mutual friend introduced them.

Ashared interest in soul, funk and hip-hop led them to form the band that became Messiah J & The Expert.
