Spiddal is making history by being the first place in Ireland where electricity has been generated from waves

Irish company Wavebob has managed to harness wave power and convert it into electricity

Wavebob has designed technology that harnesses the ocean’s power and has carried out tests off the coast of Spiddal in Galway.

Only a handful of companies around the world have managed to do this.

Each Wavebob device is capable of producing enough electricity for a thousand homes.
