INTERVENTION URGED OVER REHAB CITY JOB LOSSES
Date Published: 01-Feb-2012
A Galway Senator is urging the Minister of State for Disability, Equality and Mental Health, Kathleen Lynch, to intervene on behalf of Rehab staff being made redundant in Galway.
It emerged yesterday that 18 staff at Rehab Enterprises at Parkmore in the city will be made redundant because of the "economic downturn."
Rehab says the redundancy packages exceed the industry norms and every effort will be made to help staff find alternative employment.
Fine Gael Senator, Fidelma Healy-Eames has spoken to Minister of State, Kathleen Lynch and says she hopes the redundant staff will be supported.
