INTENSIVE EFFORTS TO SAVE NORTEL GALWAY JOBS

Intense efforts are underway to save over 300 jobs at the Galway branch of an international telecommunications company.

Nortel was placed under bankruptcy protection earlier this year in a bid to restructure its debt and save jobs.

However, in a statement the company has announced the restructuring has not been successful and discussions are now at an advanced stage to secure buyers for Nortel’s various operations.
