Insurance giant MetLife to create 400 new jobs in Galway
One of the world’s biggest insurance and asset management companies is to create a base in the Galway City, creating up to 400 new jobs.
The Galway City Tribune can reveal that representatives from MetLife have made several site visits and have identified a location in the city centre for its offices. They are continuing the due diligence process and an announcement is expected later this month.
The jobs could include IT workers, financial engineers, actuaries, compliance experts, law agents, support workers and management. It’s understood there will also be a call centre.
The IDA refused to comment when asked about the plans.
A statement from MetLife reads: “MetLife’s policy is never to comment on rumour or speculation.”
