The Bord Pleanála Public Hearing about the proposed development of the Oughterard to Maam Cross road has been adjourned.

The inspector has taken the decision because she said she was not satisfied that some landowners had been given sufficient notice of compulsory acquisition of their land to allow them to make representations in regard to this.

She is now giving Galway County Council time to prepare a response during what’s expected to be a short adjournment.

It’s now day three of the public hearing which is taking place in the Westwood Hotel in the city which Galway bay fm news is attending

Much of yesterday was taken up by discussion on the re-routing of a section of the road in the Glengowla area near Oughterard.
