INQUEST INTO DEATH OF GALWAY INFANT HEARS OF LETHAL MAGNESIUM DOSE

An inquest into the death of a five year old girl from Claregalway two years ago has opened in Galway.

Elaine Barrett died following complications after her premature birth, which were brought about after receiving a dangerously high dose of Magnesium.

It was allegedly contained in a bag of baby feed, called TPN, which was manufactured by a German pharmaceutical company called Braun.

Her parents Eileen and Frank Barrett are in Galway Court House for the inquest.
