INO CONDEMNS PORTIUNCULA WARD CLOSURE

The Irish Nurses Organisation is slamming the HSE’s decision to temporarily close St. Clare’s Ward at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe

The organisation says the closure of the 24 bed gynaecology unit will adversly affect patient care and will have a major impact on the rest of the hospital

St. Clare’s Ward will close this Sunday December 23rd until the end of January due to the HSE recruitment embargo

Noreen Muldoon, INO Industrial Relations Officer says they abhor the decision and it will have a negative impact on A&E services at Portiuncula as well
