Tuam Cathedral was packed to capacity last night(Friday) for a Mass at which a number of people were prayed for, including Shane Grogan, who was seriously injured in an incident in the town on August 5th.
Shane (23) is still in the high dependency ward at University Hospital, Galway where he is being treated for head injuries. He was transferred there from Beaumount Hospital some weeks ago.
Shane’s parents Joan and Joe, his sister Sarah, and the extended family, say the Mass was their way of saying thanks to everybody for their support.
Those attending the Mass last night were asked to continue their prayers for Shane’s recovery.
The Mass was also a remembrance ceremony for a number of other people, including Shane’s grandfather Joseph Grogan Senior who passed away shortly after Shane was born 23 years ago.
Family members have continued to be at Shane’s bedside in UHG since he was moved there last month.
