Impressive Galway boxers power to glory at National Senior Elite finals

THE verdict was unanimous on the superb showings of the three Galway boxers seeking Irish Senior Elite glory at the National Stadium on Friday night.

Gabriel Dossen, Kieran Molloy and Adam Hession all produced spectacular performances to claim the gold medal in their respective weight divisions.

Not alone that, so comprehensive was the victory of each of the Galway boxers, it left the judges with no option but to award unanimous verdicts in favour of them all.

And in a remarkable coincidence, Dossen, Molloy and Hession were emulating their feats at the 2019 National Elite finals when all three also emerged victorious.

Dossen, of the Olympic BC in the city, was first of the Galway boxers in action and he was an overwhelming favourite to win the middleweight crown again at the expense of newcomer Sean Donaghy.

Though his Derry opponent battled honourably, Dossen was at a different level, forcing two standing counts in the final round. The 22-year-old southpaw was much quicker to deliver his punches and was one of the star performers on the night.
