IFA confident of increase in rural development funds for Galway farmers
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The IFA says it’s confident that funding will be substantially increased for rural development in the agricultural sector, to the benefit of Galway farmers.
A delegation from the IFA, including outgoing President John Bryan and Connacht Vice President Padraic Divilly met with Taoiseach Enda Kenny in Castlebar this morning.
The IFA has been lobbying for months to increase the funding allocation for the rural development programme, which includes environmental schemes and support for investment on farms.
John Bryan says while the budget for 2014 has already been agreed, he’s confident increased funding will be achieved from next year.
