Hurling’s ‘Holy Trinity’ to reminisce on stellar Galway careers
They’re the three JC’s – the legends of Galway hurling through three distinct generations – and in November, they will gather together on one stage for the first time ever to chat about their illustrious careers in a celebration of the greats of the game.
Joe Canning, Joe Cooney and John Connolly will reflect on their amazing careers, when they will also be joined by a host of other sporting icons like Michael Duignan, Anthony Daly, Tommy Walsh, Tomás Mulcahy and Niall Quinn for a star-studded evening which takes place in the Galmont Hotel on Saturday, November 23, in aid of the Castlegar Indoor Sports Arena.
The evening will feature an in-depth interview with all three-former Hurlers of the Year and a look at their stellar careers in the maroon and white.
The big night was launched this week at Claregalway Castle – with the three hurling giants warming up for centre stage.
“I’m hugely honoured to be part of this very special event and can’t wait to share the stage with Joe and John,” admitted Joe Canning, All-Ireland winner with Galway in 2017.
“It promises to be a fantastic night for Galway hurling,” added Joe Cooney, himself a double All-Ireland winner with Galway in 1987 and 1988.
“I enjoyed every minute of my hurling life and really looking forward to this hugely exciting event in November,” said the senior legend John Connolly, a key man in that unforgettable All-Ireland triumph of 1980.
The event will include a champagne drinks reception, a premium dining experience and an action-packed show with a number of high-profile panels along with the three Galway greats. MC on the night will be RTE analyst and former Galway camogie star Aislinn Connolly.
There’ll be lots of entertainment too with the Galway Tenors and a very special performance from Riverdance star and current Kerry senior footballer Tomás Ó Sé.
