CRAUGHWELL GAA Club would like to invite all club players throughout Galway to take part in their ‘Hurling on the Road’ competition – which was such an outstanding success in its inaugural run last year – on St. Stephen’s Day (10am to 1pm).

Each team will consist of three players, male or female or both, with U-18s taking part to be accompanied by an adult. While teams from Craughwell GAA Club are limited to just one senior club player, this stipulation does not apply to visiting clubs.

The entry fee per team is €30 (€10 per person) and teams are asked to register for the ‘Hurling on the Road’ competition by Christmas Eve. This can be done by contacting those below or by registering in any of the local public houses. Start times will then be issued to the respective team captain’s contact number on Christmas Day.

Due to the Galway Hunt also taking part in the surrounding area on the same day, there is a change to the route this year. Consequently, the competition will hit off from Laught (adjacent to Craughwell United FC’s grounds) and conclude at the GAA’s new pitches at Crinnage.

On the day, each team will be presented with two sliotars. There is also a two-shot penalty for a lost sliotar and a one-shot penalty should the sliotar go over a wall. After the competition, the presentation of prizes will take place in Cheevers, where refreshments will be served.

For further information or to register your team, contact Fergal Healy (086-6062649), Adrian Cullinane (087-9258649) or Ian Daniels (087-6505235).
