Hurlers set for likely Leinster semi-final date with the Dubs
THE prospect of revenge has been dangled in front of the Galway hurlers after this week’s draw for the 2021 Leinster championship.
It was June of 2019 at Parnell Park when the bottom fell out of Galway’s hurling world after their earliest exit from the championship since the early sixties.
In losing to Dublin (3-19 to 0-24) in that provincial round-robin tie, the Tribesmen fatally ended up finishing fourth in the group on scoring difference.
But it’s likely Galway will have the opportunity to turn the tables on the Dubs this summer, assuming Mattie Kenny’s charges don’t slip up against Antrim in the Leinster quarter-final.
In the Connacht football championship, Galway are also pitched straight into a semi-final, with Roscommon their opponents.
