Galway Bay fm newsroom – More than 500 people attended a public meeting last night (26/8) about the future of a psychiatric unit in Ballinasloe.

The group has pledged to take to the streets to prevent the closure of the 22 bed acute care mental health unit at St. Brigid’s Hospital.

A protest rally will also take place outside the Dáil on September 18th as a local deputation meets Junior Minister at the Department of Health, Kathleen Lynch.
