HUNDREDS OF GALWAY HOMES WITHOUT WATER

Hundreds of homes across the city and county are without water this evening as freezing temperatures persist.

Water pipes at homes and estates across Galway have frozen or burst following days of sub zero temperatures.

Areas worst affected include Loughrea, Gort, Rosmuc, and Roundstone.

A spokesperson for the county council says efforts are ongoing to supply water to areas worst affected.
