HUNDREDS DEMONSTRATE IN CITY OVER GOVERNMENT CUTBACKS

Demonstrations to highlight dissatisfaction with budget cutbacks in the public sector are taking place in the city around now.

Members of the ‘Galway says no to health cuts’ campaign are gathered outside Anglo Irish Bank to draw attention to recent health cutbacks across the west.

Then in Eyre Square a visual protest performance is also underway.

A pyramid structure representing the community and voluntary sector has been erected and is being defended by a circle of people representing workers.
