HSE WEST TO RECRUIT 32 NURSES

32 staff are to be recruited within the Galway/Roscommon Hospital group following the retirement of hundreds of healthcare employees earlier this week.

207 employees have now left the group which includes University Hospital Galway, Merlin Park Hospital, Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe and Roscommon Hospital.

104 of these departures concern acute services and the remainder are from community services.

22 positions are now to be filled in the specialist nursing areas of theatre and midwifery.

A further 10 staff are to be sought for community nursing units.
