HSE WEST SPENDING TO BE CUT BY A MILLION EURO A MONTH

Health spending in the West is to be cut by 1 million euro a month to stay within budget.

For the first 4 months of this year, the Health Service Executive West ran more than 4 million euro over budget.

All HSE staff travel in the West is to be cut by at least 20 percent and all non-clinical travel is to cease.

Video conferencing will be used as an alternative to travelling to meetings.

Travel by community mental health nursing staff in the West is to be cut by 20 percent.
