HSE WEST MANANGEMENT CONSIDER ABANDONING FORUM MEETINGS

A row between a city councillor and officials from the HSE West means there’s a now possibility HSE officials will stop attending regional health forum meetings.

At last evenings regional health forum meeting Councillor Padraig Conneeley questioned decisions taken by HSE West Chief Ambulance Officer Ray Bonner about the provision of services

Councillor Padraig Conneely is questioning the tendering process carried out as part of the HSE’s employment of an ambulance company.

HSE West chief Ambulance officer Ray Bonner said the HSE could fully defend hiring the ambulance company as part of a fair and open system of recruitment

Director of the HSE West Regional Health office Dr, Sean Conroy said HSE management will now have to take advice as to whether they will continue attending regional health forum meetings

He said their integrity was being questioned

Dr Conroy said HSE management are under no obligation to attend the forum as they are only obliged to provide administrative services for meetings.
