HSE TAKES ACTION OVER FLEAS AT UHG

The HSE West says it is taking action to deal with the problem of fleas at University Hospital Galway.

A number of staff working in the outpatient department have been bitten by fleas recently, however there is no sign that patients have been affected.

In a statement, the HSE adds that the hospital is taking all appropriate measures and will continue to do so until the matter is fully addressed.

The HSE environmental health and public health departments have also liased with hospital staff in relation to the matter.
