HSE CONFIRMS CASE OF TB ON INIS OIRR

The HSE has confirmed a case of tuberculosis has been identified on the Aran Island of Inis Oirr.

The Department of Public Health is now offering screening to people who may have had close contact with the person.

TB is an infectious disease caused by bacteria, and can be spread by breathing in the bacteria in tiny droplets sneezed or coughed by someone who has TB in their lungs.
