HSE CARELESSNESS BLAMED FOR GALWAY WOMAN’S BED DELAY

HSE carelessness caused an eight year delay in processing an elderly Galway woman’s application for a public long-term care bed.

That’s the finding of Ombudsman and Information Commissioner Emily O’Reilly.

Her investigation found the woman’s son – who had been left in debt by the delay – should be compensated.
