HSE ANNOUNCES GALWAY SEXUAL ASSAULT UNIT FOR CHILDREN

A dedicated sexual assault unit for children, the first of its kind in the west, is to be set up in the city.

The HSE has revealed contracts for the service have been signed in recent days.

The service will be run at the existing adult sexual assault unit on the Tuam road.

18 children, who were allegedly sexually assaulted, were seen by specialised teams between January and March of this year.
