HOUSE TO HOUSE ENQUIRIES OVER CITY SEX ASSAULT

House to house enquiries are being carried out in Galway city this evening in the investigation into an alleged sexual assault on a GAA pitch.

A female was allegedly assaulted at the GAA sports field in Mervue in the early hours of yesterday [thurs aug 16] morning.

The assault took place at approximately 3.30am.

No arrests have yet been made but Gardai have taken several statements from the public.
