HOSPITAL RECORDS FOUND AT BOG IN ABBEYKNOCKMOY

The Data Protection Commissioner has launched an investigation after the discovery of hospital records at a bog in Abbeyknockmoy.

The HSE has been notified and a report is now being prepared.

The documents were found dumped at the bog yesterday afternoon.

It’s understood they were discovered during a clean up by a team from Galway County Council.

A spokesperson for the Data Commissioner has confirmed to Galway Bay FM News that an investigation is now underway.

It’s not known at this stage what patient details were contained in the files or what hospital they were taken from.
