Hosepipe ban and water restrictions in North and East of county
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway County Council is imposing a hosepipe ban and water restrictions in certain areas due to the current dry weather spell.
Water schemes in Ballygar, Dunmore/Glenamaddy, Williamstown, Ballymoe, Kilkerrin and Moylough are all effected.
The hospeipe ban and water restrictions will be in place between 12 midnight and 6am for the next week to help conserve water and ensure continuity of supply.
The council is also asking all water consumers to avoid wasting water as it is a valuable and limited resource.
Mayor of County Galway, Liam Carroll says the council is simply asking people to take a ‘sensible’ approach to the situation.
