HOMELESS CHARITY DISPUTES WEBSITES CITY RENT FIGURES

Homeless charity, Cope Galway is disputing recent rent figures released by property website daft dot ie.

The charity, which provides emergency accomodation and support services for homeless people, says that rent in the city has NOT dropped to the extent claimed by Daft dot ie.

Cope Galway carried out a survey of city rent levels during july and August and found that one bedroom properties are costing an average of 554 euro per month, while two bedroom properties are averaging 750 euros.

This compares with last weeks reported average monthly rent figures from Daft dot ie of 461 euro for a one bed, and 576 euro for a two bed in the city.
