Portrait of a Lady on Fire

A new season of World Cinema is ready to kick off next Thursday evening, October 8, in Seanscoil Sailearna, Indreabhán, organised by the local film society Club Scannán Sailearna.

The opening film is the award-winning French historical romantic drama, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, set in late 18th century Brittany.

Club Scannán Sailearna has scheduled 10 new films to be screened on Thursday evenings between now and Christmas in Seanscoil Sailearna, starting at 8.15pm each night. These will include the internationally produced and critically acclaimed Monos and the French box-office hit Les Misérables. All are subtitled in English.

Because of Covid-19, people will have to wear face masks and seating in the theatre will be arranged to maintain social distancing. Membership and season tickets are only available online and are limited to 30 people, because of the reduced seating capacity.

All details on the programme and a link to purchase membership are available at www.clubscannan.ie. The club can be contacted by emailing clubscannan@gmail.com or ringing 086 4048881.
