CORINTHIANS fought off desperate late City of Derry pressure to achieve a crucial away Division Three victory at Judge Lane on Saturday.

Derry were first on the scoreboard with outhalf Loane converting two penalties in quick succession.

The first came within two minutes of the kick-off, thanks to some ill-discipline from the Corinthian pack.

Just minutes later, and after further infringements from the visitors’ forwards, Loane was teeing up again, this time from over 40 metres out.

However it did not take long for Corinthians to bounce back.

Full back Paul Coady gathered a deep kick from Derry’s key playmaker, Loane, and confidently attacked the oncoming defence.
