Heavy metal music in Monroe’s with tribute band Korn Again

The brilliantly named Korn Again come to Monroe’s Live on Friday, September 14. The Liverpool based band are a tribute to the massively successful metal band Korn.
Korn formed in 1993 and made an in instant impact. At a time where bands like Metallica, Sepultura and Pantera were selling millions of records, Korn found plenty of eager ears.
Their sound is a combination of crunching riffs and Jonathan Davis’s distinctive vocal style. His ability as a singer and intensity as a frontman partly explains why Korn set themselves apart in the competitive metal market. But the guitarists’ contribution has also been crucial – James ‘Munky’ Shaffer and Brian ‘Head’ Welch combine to make a dissonant, riff-heavy and relentless noise.
It’s about as far from easy-listening as you can get, but if you enjoy the genre, Korn are a band whose popularity is well-earned.
Their five most popular songs on Spotify have close to 500 million streams – the kind of numbers that are only outdone by superstars like Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. But it’s fair to say that fans of those two artists might want to bring some earplugs to Monroe’s on September 14!
