A string of strong defensive displays during 2020 has led to Galway’s Shauna Healy being shortlisted for the Senior Camogie Player of the Year award.
The Ardrahan clubwoman features among the three nominations for this major honour, along with Kilkenny’s All-Ireland winning pair of Denise Gaule and Grace Walsh.
Healy was a key performer in Galway’s All-Ireland triumph of 2019 and continued her fine fine form last year when the Tribeswomen fell at the final hurdle to Kilkenny in attempting to retain the title.
There are no nominations for the 2020 All-Stars camogie teams and, instead, the various line-ups will be revealed at a virtual event on Saturday, March 6. The awards are again sponsored by Liberty Insurance.
Meanwhile, there is no confirmation yet whether or not 2019 All-Ireland winning manager Cathal Murray is staying at the helm of the Galway senior camogie team.
