HEALTH CHIEFS TO OUTLINE DETAILS OF HSE WEST CUTS

Details of cuts to services at Galway hospitals will be outlined at an executive meeting of the HSE West this afternoon.

Regional director of operations John Hennessy and the assistant national director of finance Liam Minihan will outline 65 million euro worth of cuts to hospitals across the HSE west by the end of the year.

Around 40 political representatives from areas such as Galway, Roscommon, and Donegal will attend this afternoons regional health forum meeting.

The meeting is getting underway at Merlin Park hospital at 2pm and is expected to last several hours.

Chairman of the regional health forum, Padraig Conneely says he expects serious debate on the impending cuts.
