HEADFORD PLAYGROUND TO BECOME A REALITY

A new playground for the Headford area is set to become a reality.

Galway rural development has allocated 140 thousand euro towards an amenity walk and playground at a site near the Moyne Villa soccer club.

It’s a major boost for the project, which is set to cost in the region of 240 thousand euro.

The rest of the money is expected to be raised from grant aids as well as community fundraising initiatives, and building could start in the coming weeks.

County Councillor Mary Hoade says communities have campaigned long and hard to make this project a reality
