Half-dozen Sarsfields players on Team of the Year

An historic season for the Sarsfields Camogie Club has been rounded off in fitting style with six of their players chosen on the AIB Club Championship Team of the Year.

The newly crowned All-Ireland champions have had their achievements recognised with a strong representation on the team, including captain Niamh McGrath, who is also one of four nominations for the Player of the Year accolade.

Joining McGrath on the team are clubmates, Laura Glynn, Laura Ward, Maria Cooney, and her sisters, Orlaith, and All-Ireland final goal-scoring hero, Siobhán.

The Club Camogie Team of the Year is as follows: Laura Glynn (Sarsfields); Céat McEldowney (Slaughtneil), Laura Ward (Sarsfields), Susan Vaughan (Scariff-Ogonnelloe); Aoife Ní Chaiside (Slaughtneil), Maria Cooney (Sarsfields), Shannon Graham (Slaughtneil); Mairéad Scanlan (Scariff-Ogonnelloe), Niamh McGrath (Sarsfields); Siobhán Bradley (Slaughtneil), Orlaith McGrath (Sarsfields), Tina Bradley (Slaughtneil); Louise Dougan (Slaughtneil), Siobhán McGrath (Sarsfields), Niamh Hetherton (St. Vincent’s).
