Half a million euro boost for Galway Arts sector
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Over half a million euro has been approved for Galway summer festivals.
Six events throughout the city and county have secured the funding from the Arts Council.
Galway Arts Festival is to receive the largest chunk of funding of 470 thousand euro.
This is followed by Clifden Community Arts Week which has secured 70 thousand euro.
Galway Theatre Festival is to receive five thousand euro and Portumna Arts Group will get 2 thousand euro.
Finally, Inishboffin Set Dancing and Trad Weekend will get a boost of 15 hundred euro.
The funding is part of the Arts Council’s provision of 2.1 million euro to support 40 festivals nationwide over summer and early autumn.
